Today, we are launching Scanatical.com to give the capability of quickly generating QR Codes (you know, those little box codes you see in ads, newspapers, websites, and all most anywhere).  These QR codes are an easy way of getting the information you need by quickly scanning the code using a mobile phone or other device.

QR Code stands for “Quick Response Code”.  These codes can take you directly to a website or give you other important information about what you are scanning.  Scanatical makes it easy for you to create your own codes that link directly to your site or message.

Another important fact about QR codes is that the more information they store, the larger the code gets.  Ideally, you want a smaller code that can be more easily scanned and takes up less space.  The way we handle this is by generating a short url.  This translates a longer link (URL) into a shorter one which saves data and space.  This also gives us an easy way of tracking the number of scans or clicks to the link.

That’s the basics of what Scanatical is about.  We are here to make things easy and fun for you.  Try them out by putting any website address in the input box above and try it out.  You can then drag the QR Code image to your desktop or folder and post it anywhere you want as an image or print it out on flyers, brochures, signs, or whatever.

As another special feature, if you are signed in to the site and start typing a message in the input field, we will store your message on Scanatical and you can post the code wherever you want.  When someone scans it with their phone, your message will be displayed on their phone.  How cool is that?
